Sheriff Steve Wilson of Walker County was elected President of the Georgia Sheriffs's Association in July 2016. He, along with Lumpkin County Sherrif, Stacy Jarrad, are both myeloma patients and each had successful stem cell transplants at North Side Hospital in Atlanta.
